TRY TO CRANK ENGINE:

Set vehicle controls to crank engine.

Engage starter switch and listen to starter motor.

Does starter motor sound like it is running

overspeed?

YES

Sound is buzz, hum, click, etc., or there is no

sound. Proceed to Starter Circuit Tests, NG80.

Proceed to step 2.

CHECK TEETH ON FLYWHEEL:

Remove starter motor (WP 0091 00).

Check for missing and/or damaged teeth on flywheel.

Are all teeth good?

YES

Replace starter motor (WP 0091 00).

Notify DS maintenance.

NOTE

After completing repair, rerun the GO-

Chain tests to verify that the problem is

fixed and that no other problems exist.
