Section Ill. OPERATION UNDER USUAL CONDITIONS
2-3 ASSEMBLY AND PREPARATION FOR USE.
2-3.1 Unpacking the Equipment. Unpacking must be performed by unit level maintenance personnel.
2-3.2 Installation Instructions.
2-3.2.1 Positioning Power Unit. Position the equipment at the worksite as follows:
NOTE
There will be two units for the Power Plant AN/MJQ-39. This procedure
must be performed on each unit and trailer. The two units must be posi-
tioned to allow the interconnection of the supplied cables.
a. Select an area as level as possible to install equipment.
b. When installing the power plant, locate the two power units side by side as shown in figure 2-3.
c. Set the trailer handbrakes and lower trailer support devices. Refer to TM 9-2330-205-14&P for
detailed installation of 2 l/2 ton trailer. Perform the following for the 1 ton and high mobility
trailers:
WARNING
Be sure trailer leveling-support jack is lowered before operating power
plant/power unit. Serious injury to personnel can result if the trailer up-
ends when disconnected from the towing vehicle.
(1) Pull out spring-loaded plunger on 1 ton trailer or pin on high mobility trailer (1, figure 2-4).
(2) Push support leg (2) down.
