TM 9-2320-209-34-2-2
b. Removal.
CAUTION
Do not let derrick down lower than horizontal position.
If derrick is lowered any further, wormgear (3) will
run off worm leveling gear (4) and derrick will fall.
When derrick is horizontal, only two teeth on worm
leveling gear (4) will mate with worm gear (3).
NOTE
Before placing derrick (1) in horizontal position, be
sure there is enough room to take off derrick (1).
Make sure there is enough room to feed rack bar (5)
halfway out of derrick. You will need at least six feet
to the left and 20 feet to the right.
1.  Using boring machine, place derrick (1) in position as shown. Refer to
Raising, Leveling, and Lowering the Derrick Tube, TM 9-2320-209-10.
2.  Using ratchet wrench, turn horizontal leveling worm assembly (2) until
derrick is horizontal. Refer to Raising, Leveling, and Lowering the Derrick
Tube, TM 9-2320-209-10. Be careful not to let wormgear (3) run off worm
wheel leveling gear (4).
