MANIFOLD HEATER IGNITION UNIT REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT (TRUCKS
WITH ENGINES LDS 427-2 AND LDS 465-1).
WARNING
Voltage output of ignition unit can cause dangerous
electrical shock.  Do not touch any uninsulated or
live connections until you make sure manifold heater
switch is in OFF position.
TOOLS :
1/2-inch wrench
Socket set, 3/8-inch drive
7/8-inch wrench
Pliers
SUPPLIES :
None
PERSONNEL:
One
EQUIPMENT CONDITION :
Truck parked, engine off, manifold heater switch in
OFF position, handbrake set.
Preliminary Procedure.
Open hood and right side panel for engine access.
Refer to TM 9-2320-209-10.
Removal.

FRAME 1
Using pliers, unscrew connector (1) and take it off ignition unit (2) .

Using 7/8-inch open end wrench, unscrew nut (3) and pull ignition lead (4)
out of ignition unit (2) .
GO TO FRAME 2
