CHECK STARTER SOLENOID VOLTAGE:
Move red clip lead of test probe to positive
terminal of starter solenoid.
Press TEST.
Crank engine and observe displayed voltage.
Is starter solenoid voltage above 18 volts?
YES
NO
If starter circuit resistance was high in
step 2, proceed to Battery
Compartment Positive Side--Voltage
Drop Checks, NG 120.
If GO message occurred during starter
circuit resistance test in step 2, check

CHECK BATTERY VOLTAGE WHILE CRANKING:
switches and wiring to solenoid, If OK,
Dial 67 into TEST SELECT switches and press
replace starter (WP 0088 00).
TEST.
Crank engine and observe displayed voltage.
Was battery voltage above 19 volts while cranking?
NG120
Go to Battery Test,
YES
NO
NG 81.
NOTE
NG81
After completing repair, rerun GO Chain
tests (WP 0017 00) to verify that problem
is fixed and no other problems exist.
Check switches and wiring to starter solenoid.
Repair as necessary (WP 0089 00 or WP 0090 00).
