1.
Using feeler gage as shown, check backlash between the oil pump drive
gear (1) and the oil pump idler gear (2). Backlash should be between
0.006 and 0.014 inches.
2. If backlash is not within limits given, mark oil pump driver gear (1) and
oil pump idler gear (2) for replacement.
