UNIT MAINTENANCE

Step 2. At the 14 inch mark, draw a 3 inch horizontal line with a straightedge from the right edge of the

tailgate extending toward the left edge of the tailgate.

Step 3. Measure 1 inch in from the right edge of the tailgate. Mark this point on the drawn 3 inch line.

Note that this point marks the outer corner of the first mounting bracket.

Step 4. Place the first bracket in position so that its outer edge lies on the line 1 inch in from the right

edge of the tailgate. Be sure to use the smaller "deployment" bracket.The hooks on the bracket should

face the hinge on the tailgate. Orient the mounting holes on the first bracket to face outward and toward

the right edge of the tailgate. Mark the position of the two holes in the first bracket.

Step 5. Using the 9/32 inch transfer punch included with the mounting kit, mark the center of the two

mounting holes. Be sure to get as close to the center as possible.
