d. Cleaning. There are no special cleaning procedures needed. Refer to
cleaning procedures given in Part 1, para 1-3.
NOTE
Clean all parts before inspection and before
assembly.
Inspection and Repair.
NOTE
Readings must be within limits given in table 17-5.
If readings are not within given limits, throw away
part and get a new one.
Measure fit of adjusting bearing (1) of worm gear shaft (2).

Measure fit of sleeve bearing (3) on shaft (2).
Measure thickness of thrust washer (4).
