NOTE
Refer to para 3-3d of clutch control and linkages replace-
ment procedure to check free pedal travel.
Using 3/4-inch wrenches, hold clevis (1) and loosen nut (2) .
1.
Pull pin (3) to one side of clevis (1).  Pull clevis away from throwout shaft

lever ( 4).
If free pedal travel is less than 1 1/2 inches, shorten length of rod (5) by
3.
screwing clevis ( 1) into rod.
If free pedal travel is more than 2 inches, make length of rod (5) longer by
4.
unscrewing clevis ( 1).
After setting length of rod (5) , join clevis (1) to throwout shaft lever (4) .
5.
Using prybar, pry pin (3) (from transmission side) through clevis until pin
is seated.
Recheck free pedal travel.
6.
If free pedal travel is 1 1/2 to 2 inches, using 3/4-inch wrench, tighten

nut (2) against clevis (1) .
